Reaching the dizzy heights of success
AFTER AMAZING A LEVEL RESULTS
GCSE RESULTS HAVE BEEN
EAGERLY ANTICIPATED. THE GUARDIAN LOOKS INTO SOME OF THIS YEAR'S
SUCCESS STORIES
Tom Hood school in Terling Close, reported results up on last
year. At Tom Hood almost a third of pupils got five or more A*
to C grades compared to only 18% last year. Tom Hood deputy head
Tony Hartney said "We are thrilled to bits about the results.
The staff have worked relentlessly to improve achievement. What
was most encouraging was that the overall results across the whole
ability range are dramatically up."
Left to right pupils Steven Short, Rukshana Baki, Mellissa
Massama and Cynthia Boldinger,
celebrating great successes this week after the long nail-biting
wait for their GCSE results.
